Robert Paul Nelson
Realtor, Rambler, Ratttler & Raconteur
Born in legendary Ferriday, LA and raised a farm boy, Robert Paul Nelson embodies some core values and methods of resourcefulness that perhaps others may have missed out on. Maybe it was within the confines of this upbringing where his true character was honed.
Moving up and onward in life, he graduated from Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge, LA, with a B.S. in Finance, and worked a short while in Investments and Banking. But on an adventure quest, he left that behind and stepped on to a riverboat and discovered his love of history and culture and delighted in the people he met. So what embarked as a break from monotony, developed into a full and longtime career as an entertainer and resident “storyteller” aboard the vessels of the legendary Delta Queen Steamboat Company. To onboard audiences, he told of history and folklore, and stretched a few of these stories in a way that would make Mark Twain proud.
For more than a decade, Paul traveled over five thousand miles of America’s inland rivers and became well-recognized throughout the river communities and through numerous public relations events. Inevitably, change came calling and Paul moved his career ashore and settled in New Orleans. His interest in the river and history brought him to buy a historic home, and that opened the door to getting a real estate license.
After almost 20 years in real estate, Paul is now a licensed Real Estate Broker as well as a licensed Auctioneer and resides on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Covington, LA. Give him a call, he’s waiting to hear from you.
